Before First Class (Orientation Week)

Best Piece of Creative Work

Pencil Holder

This pencil holder was designed using two kinds of unconventional materials: bolts and paperclips. It was a project I did in my foundation studies design studio class. The pencil holder must be strong enough to hold ten pencils without letting them touching the table surface and using only unconventional materials with either cable ties or adhesives to hold the structure together. It was a challenging task, but I got to explored and learned more about design and use of materials.

A Great Piece of Architecture

The Interlace

This massive residential building is one of the largest and significant buildings in Singapore. The building is very much different from other condominuims I have seen before. The blocks sit on top of one another and have different orientations which is a very smart way to make use of the sunlight and view. As can be seen from the photo above, the living and social spaces are integrated impressively with the natural environment as well.

An Original Photograph of Something Beautiful

Aerial Shot of Surfers Paradise

This is a photograph I took on my trip to Queensland in December, 2015. This is the view of a residential suburb, Paradise Waters, along the coastal area of Surfers Paradise. It shows a beautiful view of man-made waterways and how the suburb was designed and planned efficiently to service local residents and tourists.
