5 Images From Lumion Environment

The texture chosen for the underground waiting area has a pattern of oddly looking  dynamic oval shapes to represent an interesting choice of the wall skin, which is inspired by the design concept of Herzog & De Meuron's remarkable use of materialities for building skin.

The texture used as the flooring of the light rail stop shows a variation in length of lines protruding from all sides creating a sense of dynamic movement within the space. The design responds to the use of the space without the need to implement unneccesary ornamentation. The idea was developed according to one of Walter Gropius's design principles, which is use of linear form and free of surface decoration to achieve a look of modernism.

The texture shows the choice of material used for the walls of the light rail stop, which is hempcrete. It is created from woody inner fibres of the hemp plant and then formed into concrete-like shapes. This represents the concept of economical and utilitarian architecture of Walter Gropius, which new material is used without losing the aesthetic of the structure.
